Auditions 2020
Queridas familias:
Este año el Play de Primaria y Secundaria es "Aladdin". Como siempre, todos los alumnos del Colegio tienen la oportunidad de presentarse en las audiciones del Play: Cantar una canción para obtener un papel principal en la obra. Los alumnos de los últimos dos años de Secundaria, siempre son los protagonistas del musical, sin embargo, también hay papeles para chicos de otras edades. Es por eso que queremos acercar una propuesta a sus hijos, aprovechando las vacaciones, para que preparen la canción que quieran mostrar. Las audiciones serán durante las dos primeras semanas de clase. Les pedimos que elijan canciones de musicales, preferentemente de Aladdin.

Breakdown
GENIE: all-powerful, fast-talking wise cracker and prisoner of the lamp. Not necessarily the strongest singer and dancer, but the ability to do comedy is much more important.
NARRATORS: Boys and/or girls. All should be able to sing well and speak clearly, comedic skills are a plus.
ALADDIN: Charismatic, poor street urchin, longs to make his mother proud. He must be charming, a great singer, a great actor, needs versatility to play the funny, sleek prankster, as well as the romantic lead.
YOUNG ALADDIN: Charismatic, poor street urchin, longs to make his mother proud. He must be charming, a great singer, a great actor, needs versatility to play the funny, sleek prankster, as well as the romantic lead.
Young BABKAK, Young OMAR, and young KASSIM: Need to sing & dance, comedic skills. Aladdin’s devoted and penniless pals.

JASMINE – Princess of Agrabah; craves the freedom to make her own choices. She is rebellious, genuinely sweet. Not wishy washy, or too much of a brat either. Strong soprano singer.

SULTAN – warm hearted ruler of Agrabah. No solo singing required.
JAFAR – the Sultan’s villainous Grand Vizier, possibly a taller boy.
IAGO (young boy/girl) – Jafar’s lackey; He is a parrot, always over-eager to assist in an evil plan. Does not need to be a strong singer.
MAGIC CARPET: boy or girl, no speaking part. With tumbling and gymnastics skills.
RAZOUL: – the intimidating head of the Guards, answers only to Jafar. No singing required.
GUARDS: – work for Razoul. Need not be strong singers.
BEGGARS (young kids) – hungry Agrabahns in the marketplace
PRINCE ABDULLAH – one of Princess Jasmine’s arrogant suitors. No singing required.
ISIR, MANAL, and RAJAH – Jasmine’s loyal, encouraging attendants. Must be good singers.
YOUNG ISIR, YOUNG MANAL, and YOUNG RAJAH – Young Jasmine’s loyal, encouraging attendants. Must be good singers.
